Welcome to the Baczor family name. Our fathers name was Franciszek and our grandfather was Michael. Originally they came from a town called Lwow which was captured during the 2nd world war by Russia and is now the Ukraine. Having served with the British 8th Army our Father settled in England after the war.
He had 3 brothers: one died falling from a tree; one had a factory in Czechoslovakia; the third named Victor, we believe emigrated to Canada. Our Grandfather married again and had a daughter called Anna who still lives in a village called Janikow near Wroclaw, Poland.
My Irish mother, brother and I together with his granddaughter Louisa are his surviving kin. We have always been curious about other relations that carry this rare surname - to our knowledge we are the only ones in England. We have heard many rumours as to the origin of the name, but Hungarian seems to be favoured. Perhaps with enough information the Baczor’s that exist could put together a family tree!
